Casey Kniser focuses on commercial litigation, including patent and trademark litigation, as well as breach-of-contract and employment litigation. Mr. Kniser also has experience successfully defending companies in class actions, including class actions involving alleged breaches of data security and non-compliance with privacy regulations. Mr. Kniser, a former federal prosecutor, also defends clients in high-stakes criminal litigation, including cases involving the U.S. Department of Justice. He has over 20 years of experience in courts across the country, including in Delaware and Texas.
Mr. Kniser manages Inter Partes Reviews and other post-grant proceedings, and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Mr. Kniser also advises companies on data security / privacy regulatory compliance.
Mr. Kniser boasts particularly deep experience relating to the Internet, computer software, and security technologies.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Kniser served as a criminal lawyer in the US Navy JAG Corps and worked with NCIS and FBI cybercrime investigations. While in the Navy, he also served as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Norfolk, Virginia.
